Okay, that's *weird*

Just been reminded, thanks to lonemagpie, that it's 30 years today since the final episode of Blake's 7 was transmitted, and...

...it's odd. I don't think I'd describe myself as a hardcore Blake's 7 fan. I probably count as a fan of sorts - I've got most of the books based on the series, including one of the annuals, bought some of the VHS tapes when they came out in the late '80s/early '90s (including at least one of the heavily edited ones), now have the whole lot on DVD...and yet at least one of the episodes (Moloch) I know I missed first time round and have never bothered to watch it since, and I've never bothered with the Radio 4 dramas (although some would say that marks me out as a very good and loyal fan of the TV series...). (I'm definitely looking forward to the Big Finish audios. That goes without saying.)

And yet. That final episode? I remember it like it was yesterday. I mean, I've seen it since anyway (my dad recorded it when it was repeated in 1983, so it was one of the first things I was able to rewatch, and when I got the DVDs it was one of the first episodes I watched), but I specifically remember watching it first time round, and the experience of watching it, really vividly. I even remember that there was a trailer earlier in the evening, featuring Tarrant sliding down the floor of the crashed Scorpio.

Kudos to all those responsible for making such powerful, memorable TV.
