Other stuff...I'd heard that Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., to give it its full title (or just plain SHIELD, as I'll be calling it in writing, 'cos quite frankly I can't be bothered typing it out in full...) was coming to the UK "soon" after its US airing. I hadn't been prepared for how soon. In the USA, it goes out on September 24th. In the UK, September 27th, on Channel 4. And conveniently, it's at 8:00pm, so no schedule clash with Orphan Black.
Straight after SHIELD on Channel 4 (so, schedule clash, but hey, that's what Sky+ is for...or VHS tape, if you're Old Skool), is the final (hour-long) episode of The IT Crowd. Which honestly, I'll watch for completeness' sake, but I'm not really stoked up about it. (Of all the things I'm mentioning in this post, though, it's the only one I've got specific LJ user pics for, so here y'go... ^^^)
On the "this looks intriguing so I'll give it a shot" front is James Corden's new series, The Wrong Mans (yes, that is the correct title)...I've seen just enough trailers to be slightly curious about it, although slightly irritated by the actual trailers. But from what I can tell, it seems to have a distinctly offbeat vibe to it (the immediate feel I'm getting, rightly or wrongly, is Ghostbusters of East Finchley, if anyone actually watched/remembers that...). But yeah, I suspect I'll be giving the first episode a shot (next Tuesday, BBC2, 9:00pm).
Then on Wednesday, Brian Cox (the professor, not the actor) presenting Science Britannia (BBC2, 9:00pm...although it looks like the first episode is actually tomorrow seems to have huntingospray's name all over it, whilst The Two Ronnies Spectacle over on Gold at 8:00pm very much has mine on it - seems to be basically a history of the Two Ronnies, with clips and some behind-the-scenes material as well.
