Coupling - Stuck in the Giggle Loop

...to everyone who gave me v-hugs, they were much appreciated. I'm still not feeling much better, to be honest, but am now back at work with a mountain of things to deal with and take my mind of negativity.

Thanks also to Sarah for being awesome and made of win (but v. ill) and chatting away on Messenger yesterday even if we couldn't actually be together. And to avonette for 'phoning me yesterday evening and I'm looking forward to seeing you on Saturday and Sarah might be well enough to join us hopefully.

Random speculation...

...because my colleagues have been discussing The Tudors...

How would UK history (and indeed world history) have worked out differently if Henry VIII's first wife had given birth to a son?

I mean, presumably, it would have done, but I'm not enough of a historian to speculate on exactly how.

There must be some good speculative fic about it - it's the sort of thing Connie Willis would do, I'm sure, but doesn't seem to have. If anybody can point me in the direction of something - either published or online - I'd be really grateful.

Things that make me squee

This makes me squee a bit: Gareth David-Lloyd has a band. I'd squee a bit more about it were't not for the fact that all the gigs they play (eight in the past year) are in Wales. Mind you...it'd be a good excuse for a trip out that way.

This makes me squee a lot: Gareth David-Lloyd is doing a signing at the Stamp Centre in London on November 1st. It's perfect - it's a Saturday, I'll've just got paid...sorted. (I'd go to The Hub, but really, not enough time, not enough money, and other commitments...shame. Anyone on the Flist who's going, please post lots of nice con reports and photos - of Gareth in particular, and of the other attendees too).
