Coupling - Stuck in the Giggle Loop

Suzanne Vega things

I had two rather pleasant Suzanne Vega-related surprises today. First was when I popped into the garage on the way into work and Left of Center was playing on the radio. I think it's fair to say I don't normally expect to hear her songs playing on the radio anyway, much less that one (which I always think of as rather obscure, even though maybe it isn't), so *win*.

Then on the fancy_poultry Suzanne Vega LJ community, someone posted that they'd been to see Suzanne on tour last night in Salford. I didn't even know she was on tour in the UK anyway (and I swear I only looked at her website a month ago if that), but lo! she is, and although I can't really justify any gig-going this month, apparently next month she'll be at the O2 Academy 2 in Oxford on 12th July, by which time I'll have been paid and will be working at Milton Keynes (the drive to Oxford should be a bit over an hour). So, I shall Make A Note.

This makes me a bit happy..!

Coupling - Stuck in the Giggle Loop

Tuesday 15th June 2010

Went to work. On the way in, I stopped at the garage to pick up some food, and on the radio Left of Center by Suzanne Vega was playing. That was a very pleasant surprise. Then at work whilst I was checking my LJ Flist I found that Suzanne's touring at the moment. Although any dates this month are pretty much out of the question, she's playing the O2 Academy in Oxford on July 12th. That's not going to be wonderful, from the point of view of getting there from Milton Keynes, and then getting back to Chorleywood afterwards (if nothing else, I'll need a key...), but even so, there are worse places to try to get to. So I think I might give that a shot.

Apart from that no vivid memories of what I did today, although I'm pretty sure that I went shopping (probably to Tesco, maybe to Sainsbury's) after work and bought the latest Doctor Who DVD - a boxed set of The King's Demons and Planet of Fire under the title Kamelion Tales. I may well have started watching that tonight.
