Coupling - Stuck in the Giggle Loop

Writer's Block: Globetrotting

If you were given the opportunity to spend two weeks in any country in the world free of charge, which country would you choose, and why?

Well, we're back to the vague plans Sarah and I have for a mini-tour of Italy, really. So that.

Right now, just a two-week holiday would be really really appreciated, 'cos I'm shattered. The weekend can't come soon enough... Unfortunately I've got precisely 2½ days of annual leave left until my leave year renews at the start of October...
Mock the Week - Feel the Love

Mock the absent minded

So, the first thing I thought when I got home last night was, "ooh, must remember to set the Sky+ up to record Mock the Week."

It should, therefore, come as no surprise to anyone that I forgot to set the Sky+ up to record Mock the Week.

*grumble grumble*

Oh good, gets a repeat on Sunday. (Sarah, remind me to Sky+ it, okay?!)

And new series of The Now Show starts tonight, so Yay!
Coupling - Stuck in the Giggle Loop

Sometimes fandom is wonderful...

...so not only was a Madame Vastra/Jenny community born just a little over 24 hours after A Good Man Goes To War aired, soon populated by fic, videos, and other fan work, but there's a Facebook group campaigning for a new series...and there's even a fansite about the spin-off series that doesn't even exist yet. Which looks awesome (although personally I wish it had taken a leaf out of greenpear's mock title sequence, because a spinoff that also featured David Morrissey as Jackson Lake and Pauline Collins as Queen Victoria would be exquisite). Personally, I've got some fic ideas which I want to work on when I've got the free time - mainly revolving around, how does Vastra get to be in Victorian London and what debt does she owe the Doctor? And also, trying to involve the nascent Torchwood somewhere in there...

Anyway, lizardladylove is the community, should you so desire.

I wonder if Steven Moffat knows what he's started?

Totally unoriginal entry time

Because there's never a wrong time to quote a large chunk of Douglas Adams at the world:

"Share and Enjoy" is, of course, the company motto of the hugely successful Sirius Cybernetics Corporation Complaints division, which now covers the major land masses of three medium sized planets and is the only part of the Corporation to have shown a consistent profit in recent years.

The motto stands - or rather stood - in three mile high illuminated letters near the Complaints Department spaceport on Eadrax - "Share and Enjoy". Unfortunately its weight was such that shortly after it was erected, the ground beneath the letters caved in and they dropped for nearly half their length through the underground offices of many talented young complaints executives - now deceased. The protruding upper halves of the letters now appear, in the local language, to read "Go stick your head in a pig", and are no longer illuminated, except at times of special celebration.

At these times of special celebration a choir of over two million robots sing the company song "Share and Enjoy". Unfortunately - again - another of the computing errors for which the company is justly famous means that the robot's voices are exactly a flattened fifth out of tune and the result sounds something like this:

Share and Enjoy, Share and Enjoy
Journey through life with a plastic boy
Or girl by your side, let your pal be your guide
And when it breaks down or starts to annoy
Or grinds when it moves and gives you no joy
Cos it's eaten your hat or had sex with your cat
Bled oil on your floor or ripped off your door
You get to the point you can't stand any more
Bring it to us, we won't give a fig
We'll tell you, 'Go stick your head in a pig'.

...only slightly worse.

Just be grateful I didn't actually link to an mp3 of the song... :o)
Merlin - Merlin's Balls

Fandom crossover thing...

So on The Now Show, Jon Holmes' "reads your made-up letters & emails" bit is now being introduced to the strains of You're the Voice by John Farnham.

*tries to get image of Colin and Bradley out of my mind*

*not working*

*oh, never mind...* :o)
