Brian Blessed - alarm

Ooh, me ontologicals.

I'm not the first to ponder this, but when we say, "it's the best thing since sliced bread," well...what was the best thing before sliced bread? It just occurred to me that maybe (and I apologise for vaguely channelling my inner Anselm here, along with a smidgen of Plato), the best thing before sliced bread was the idea of sliced bread..?

Man, waiting for the ferry across Poole Harbour makes the mind go in weird directions...

Films and stuff.

Been meaning to do this for a while. Just a list of films that are either already out, or vaguely imminent, that I'd kind of like to see at the cinema (instead of my usual trick of thinking they'd be quite nice to see, and then not actually getting round to it until they're out on DVD/Blu-Ray/iTunes). If anyone fancies joining me to see any of them, either in Hemel, London, or nearby-ish, let me know, we can talk dates and times.

Star Trek into Darkness (yes, I know, already out)

Man of Steel (ditto)

Despicable Me 2 (again, already out. I guess there's a case to be made for seeing the first film beforehand..?)

Now you see me (3rd July)

Monsters University (12th July)

Pacific Rim (12th July)

The World's End (19th July)

Elysium (23rd August)

Also, The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug, although that's not out until December 13th.

And also also, it's not a film, but does anybody fancy seeing The Cripple of Inishmaan with me? Booking until 31st August.

And also also also, I'm determined at some point to go to the Warner Bros. Studio Tour. Anybody else up for that?

(There are other films that I've been vaguely thinking of - the new Wolverine film, for one - but that's the main list, for the time being. Anything else I see that looks interesting, I'll add to this list and I'll probably try to sticky the post.)
