Coupling - Stuck in the Giggle Loop

You're the Big Finish...

Today has been a rather lovely day spent at Big Finish Day 4 in Slough. When I decided, back in the aftermath of the Big50th Celebration at the Excel, to get back into convention-going, this was exactly the sort of thing I had in mind - not too many attendees (I only actually booked when I arrived, and I'm number 226), single stream, a good selection of guests...

I've had a selection of CDs, DVDs, and my battered Programme Guide signed by, variously, Lisa Bowerman (Karra from Survival, Professor Bernice Summerfield, and director of various BF plays); Tracy Childs (Klein in various BF plays starting with Colditz); Pamela Salem, Karen Gledhill, Simon Williams, and Hugh Ross (between them, the Counter Measures group from Remembrance of the Daleks and its BF spin-off series); Marc Platt (writer of Ghost Light, amongst other things); Angela Douglas; Julian Glover (is he a Sir yet? If not, why not?); and Peter Wyngarde. Am considering adding Tom Chadbon to the list, but that'll involve forking out a tenner...

Three more panels to go, including one on sound design, which sounds (no pun intended) really interesting, and then a (if this morning is indicative) fairly leisurely 45 minute drive back home.

Oh, and...

My 1994 edition Doctor Who Programme Guide. Also known as my Doctor Who autograph book. It's actually kind of sad that a fair chunk of people who've signed it are no longer with us. :-(

Coupling - Stuck in the Giggle Loop

Sounds peculiar...

Supposing - not entirely hypothetically - I wanted to get involved in sound design for radio/audio drama...what's the best way to go about it? I'd love to get involved with an organisation like Big Finish, but I don't have any demo material to send them, 'cos I don't know anyone who's recording audio drama that I could use to do a sample dialogue edit to send them...seems like a bit of a vicious circle...
