Doctor Who - 50th anniversary logo

In theory, I've just woken up.

In practice, I'm not sure I got any sleep last night.

This could be a rough day...
Doctor Who - Fantastic

I'm actually a bit excited right now.

Earlier today, I was transferring the contents of a few DVD-Rs to my external hard drive, on the sensible basis that It Saves A Lot Of Space. One of the things I was transferring was the old Tony Hawks programme One Hit Wonderland, based on his book of the same name. Sadly, my copy of it, originally recorded by my mum back on its first and possibly, so far, only airing on The Discovery Channel back in summer 2002, is in a hopeless state - missing one of the seven episodes, and the ones that I've got are mostly incomplete in varying degrees. So, as I often do whenever I think about the programme, I did a search online to see if by any chance someone with a complete copy of it might have decided to upload it to Youtube or some other less than licit location; or even better, if it's being released on a legitimate commercial DVD.

No joy there.

But I did find that, joy of joys, it's being repeated by this digisatcable channel. Sadly, I've missed the first episode, and am just an hour in time for the second (3:30pm...can't come soon enough...), but suffice it to say I've set the Sky+ Box to record what's left of the whole series...and will then be digitising the whole lot asap.

Am very definitely a rabbit of positive euphoria!!!

(And if, by any chance, anyone out there can supply me with a complete copy of the first episode, I'll be an even happier bunny!!!)
Me and Sarah

Oh dear. :-(

I appear to have an ill bunny of a Sarah right now. She started to feel a bit unwell last night - feverish, upset tummy, a bit sort of cold-y/flu-y. Reckons she might have got some sort of virus. Probably doesn't help that she went into work today despite feeling bad this morning. I have put my foot down with both hands and given her stern instructions (yeah, like that'll help..!) not to go into work tomorrow unless she's feeling better. Meanwhile, I've just made her a makeshift meal (bread & marge with some lemon & lime marmalade - man, I'd forgotten how lovely that stuff smells! - and also a chunk of cheese. Hopefully not to be eaten with the bread, marge, and L&L marmalade, but you never know...) and she's headed up to bed.

Hopefully she'll have a sound night's sleep and wake up feeling much better in the morning, but could I please ask all the folks out there who are in any way pray-y types to say a few words to your deity(ies) of choice, and if you're not pray-y types, to send v-hugs and good vibes down the interwebz. Thanks.

In other news...

Re: One Hit Wonderland, the episode that was broadcast this afternoon - advertised on the EPG and the channel's website as episode 2 of 7 - was in fact episode 3.

There are still five episodes left to be broadcast - one every day this week (at both 6:00am and 3:30pm) and one next Monday (same times).

Whether they've just managed to inadvertently swap two episodes in broadcast order or not, I don't know. Really, it looks like my main concerns are episode 1 (which presumably went out last Friday, or possibly Thursday - my copy is only about 11 minutes of a 23-ish minute programme), episode 4 (which, as far as I can tell, I'm missing entirely), and episodes 6 & 7, both of which are truncated by a few minutes, but nowhere near as badly as episode 1.

So, one way or another I should be able to plug most of the gaps in my collection - and hopefully the fact that it's getting this repeat run bodes well for possible future runs... It'll just be interesting to see which episode they show tomorrow...
Balderdash gang

May have difficulty getting out of my head the image of Victoria Coren Mitchell crawling in her pants towards her bottle of whisky whispering "precious"...
