Preparing really early

I'm not sure what to make of this, but despite a family rule that We Do Not Plan Christmas until after Sarah's sister's birthday (which is November 20th, I think, or possibly 21st...I probably ought to know for definite...), we're making at least vague plans for visiting a Christmas market. My personal preferences are Prague and Munich if we're going to go to Europe, and York if we're going to stay in the UK; although AIUI if you're going to do those things, going to Europe is kind of best if you really want to get into the spirit of things. We went to one in Rochester three or four years back, and it was...kind of disappointing. The market itself wasn't too bad, but the fact that the coach we were on broke down, and then the overnight hotel stay was somewhere in the vicinity of Gatwick (and not, say, Rochester) at a hotel where the food was not desperately appealing even by the standards of the less picky eaters in our party kind of soured the experience for us.

As it is, there are a few things coming up in the next couple of months that I really ought to pin down in terms of making bookings - Manchester Film and Comic Con on Saturday 30th May; Space Spectacular on Friday 19th/Saturday 20th June</a>; London Pride on Saturday 27th June; Raintown in Doncaster on Saturday 4th July; and London Film and Comic Con on Sunday 19th July. Not to mention having a friend I'd like to visit in Driffield at some point having missed her birthday last year due to only just having come out of hospital with a dodgy foot, and wanting to get together for a meal with my sisters and our respective other halves. And then there's Nine Worlds in August, and I can't really not go to that. No rest for the wicked, basically...
