Stargate SG1 - cast & logo

The next few days.

Friday is going to involve being at work for the morning, then - having managed successfully to wangle the afternoon off - huntingospray and I are taking Rita to The Globe to see King John. After that, I'm popping over to the Cineworld cinema at the O2 dome thingy to see Minions with kharma2815.

Saturday is Pride London day, so yay! Plan at the moment is to join the Christians at Pride group for the march bit, and then chill, relax, probably have a Nando's and maybe catch up with anyone I know who's there (if you're going to be around and want to meet up, text me, message me, email me, or whatever). Going to go to the service of celebration at 5:00pm as led by the wonderful Sally Hitchiner, and after that the plan is to go and see Stop! The Play at the Trafalgar Studios which has been recommended by its lighting designer, the multi-talented gestalt entity that is Catherine Webb, Kate Griffin or Claire North depending on which hat she's wearing at any given time. (Note: that does rather depend on booking a ticket. Don't forget to book a ticket.)

And then on Sunday, I suspect I may briefly wake up and then go back to bed... ^_^

Mind you...

...I am a bit annoyed.

Because I'd really love a Magna Carta themed t-shirt to wear tomorrow. Had I organised the half-day off work sooner, I might have sorted something out a bit sooner. But the annoying thing is, the exact t-shirt I'd like doesn't exist, so I'd have to go to the hassle of "designing" it and getting it printed.

I mean, the design bit is already done. It's the following text, in white, probably Times New Roman, on a black background:

"Does Magna Carta mean nothing to you? Did she die in vain? Brave Hungarian peasant girl who forced King John to sign the pledge at Runnymede and close the boozers at half past ten! Is all this to be forgotten?"

...or possibly just the first two sentences. How come such a t-shirt doesn't already exist?

So, yeah...

Spoon count = low.

So low that I not only couldn't cook a meal, I couldn't even do my usual standby of ordering a pizza. I put together a bowl of cereal, so that's okay. Ran out of cereal in the process, so less okay. Sarah's not feeling too great either right now (came home with a splitting headache and feeling dizzy, and something which could be either the early stages of a cold or an attack of hay fever, and is also low on spoons). So yeah. Chez Brider is Not Feeling Good right now. The only reason I'm not in bed is because getting up from the sofa in the lounge involves too much effort. Also, Mock the Week is on in half an hour. Although I'm a bit too knackered to stay up for it, if I'm honest.

Saddened by the announcement of Patrick Macnee's death. Not been a good year for celebrity deaths really, what with Pratchett, Moody, Lee, and now Macnee. And James Horner earlier in the week. Back during my formative years, c.1984, Channel 4 screened some (possibly all) episodes of The Avengers, which was a.) my introduction to it and b.) because of them being the episodes I watched first, the reason why Tara King is the definitive Avengers girl for me. Yes she is, stop sniggering at the back.

Having said that, for me Macnee - again one of those accidents of timing - will always mainly be the voice at the start of the original Battlestar Galactica.

RIP, sir. Keep wearing the bowler and weilding the brolly.
