Which, as many people on my Flist have observed, was really sad news - I mean, heck, I'm no fan of the guy, but 28 is no age to go, and he leaves behind a 2-year old daughter and he seemed to be on a bit of a career roll with everything to live for, and...yeah, it's sad news.
I now hear that Westboro Baptist Church (Fred Phelps' organisation) intends to picket Mr Ledger's funeral on the basis that he played a gay cowboy in the film Brokeback Mountain.
Which given WBC's notorious lack of tact and discretion is hardly surprising, but even so...
I've had a pretty crap day anyway, and reading this may well be the straw that breaks this particular camel's back. I mean, really, there just are no words to express how utterly disgusted I am with Phelps and his folks.
I kind of hope they don't find out where the funeral is being held. Someone on the Outpost Gallifrey forums (as was) suggested that if the family held the funeral in Australia, the air fare would put WBC off going. Nice idea, but...look, I'm not one to wish ill on people, but if WBC picket this particular funeral, I hope they get what they deserve. Interpret that however you please.
