Gacked from seiyaharris

1. Each player starts with 8 random facts/habits about themselves.
2. People who are tagged, write a blog post about their own 8 random things, and post these rules.
3. At the end of your post you need to tag 8 people.

1.) I've been a Doctor Who fan since I was 5 (my earliest memory, of any kind, involves me and my sister being rather keen to be excused from the meal table when we had relatives visiting, and rushing into the lounge just in time to catch the last few minutes of an episode of The Ark in Space).

2.) I'm a frustrated perfectionist. This is most evident if you visit my house, because it's not exactly clean and tidy. I crave cleanliness and tidiness, but I've let it get so far on top of me that I don't know where to begin. But every so often I'll have a brief period of rushing around and doing stuff.

3.) I'm an obsessive. I don't do things by halves. I recently watched the whole of Roswell, which a work colleague had lent me, and have now started on the first three seasons of Buffy the Vampire Slayer, as lent to me by avonette. Although I've taken a brief break from that to watch through Pushing Daisies season 1. I'm also doing my best to ensure that Sarah has all of Transformers on DVD, because she's a fan.

4.) My mother has incredible difficulty remembering how old I am, despite having been reminded on many occasions that it's quite simple - for all but the last two weeks of the year, the last digit of the year is the last digit of my age.

5.) I'm really appalling at time keeping. I didn't used to be (in fact there was a time when I'd be paranoidly early - I remember once turning up about three hours early to a concert and therefore waiting for three hours in the foyer of the theatre. But these days, I'm incredibly late for most things. Sarah insists she's working on that. My past is cluttered with things I quite wanted to see at the cinema or theatre, but never quite got round to booking tickets until it was too late. I'm still vaguely hoping to see Tutankhamun at the O2, and David Tennant in Hamlet, but at the moment I'm not holding out much hope, as time is running out.

6.) Speaking of which, potted history - Sarah and I met in 2004 (30th October) in a queue outside Tenth Planet for a Doctor Who-related signing. We've been engaged since August 2006, and just before last Christmas we set the wedding date - next September 19th. Sarah will be moving to Letchworth Garden City (if she can sell her current home) asap, and I'll be joining her about a month before the wedding. We're hoping to honeymoon in Egypt.

7.) I'm a Christian, but I seldom make it out to the morning services with my church. I keep meaning to improve.

8.) I like love stories and romance and slush*. Sarah doesn't. This is because she evidently has no taste. *g* I'd like to read (or possibly write) a really good gay love story - original, not fanfic. Any good recs?

*And, indeed, slash.

And...I'm not tagging anyone, but if you want to do this meme, go for it.
