Happy birthday Doctor Who!!! 45 years old and still going strong.

I've just celebrated in a fairly usual way (watched the edited pilot and then the original broadcast episode, along with some of the other gubbins from the DVD release) and am now going to bed.

It's been a good weekend - much time spent with Sarah, yesterday seeing her sister Clare, Clare's husband Nick, and their little son Michael, celebrating Clare's birthday with chicken and pizza.

Then today a meal out at Brentwood's Toby Carvery (which rejoices in the name The Artichoke, I know not why) and then after a quick drive (i.e. me driving Sarah's car, on a sort of pointless trip from Brentwood to Ingatestone and then back to Shenfield), to see my grandparents - it had been my grandma's birthday on Friday. My great aunt Mabs (short for Mabel, not that she likes being called that) and my aunt Lynn were also there, so it was quite a nice gathering. We'll hopefully see them all again at the Boxing Day family meet.

Then Sarah dropped me off back at home and, as I say, I've been Doctor Who-ing pretty much since.

But now, 'tis time for bed.
