What's the best conversation you've ever had with a stranger—on a bus, in an elevator, at a cafe, etc.?

Saturday October 30th 2004, outside the Tenth Planet shop, for a signing by - amongst other folks - Nicholas Courtney. Got chatting to a lady in the queue next to me about generally geeky things. Asked her if she was going to the Dimensions convention that was taking place a couple of weeks from then. Yes, she said, she was. Thinking maybe we could share a train or a coach ride, I asked how she was travelling. By car, she said. Could she possibly give me a lift? Sure, no problem, she said.

And in 4 months time, we're getting married.

Best conversation. No question.
