30 days of me meme - day 3 (also delayed)

So, two in one day. Can I make three (and therefore be back on schedule)? Who knows, but I'm hopeful...

Already happened:

Day 03 → Your favorite television program
Oh, that's easy.

Doctor Who.

Always and forever, the old and the new, Doctor Who.

I mean, I've loved it since...well, put it this way, my earliest memory - of any kind - is Doctor Who-related (my sister and I, at the meal table - she'd have been not quite 3, I'd have been 5 - desperate to be excused from the table so we could go and watch that evening's episode, and finally making it into the lounge in time for the cliffhanger of episode 1 of The Ark in Space), and since then I've never stopped loving it...apart from a brief phase around 1993 when I started to think I was going through the motions a bit - buying the magazine and the novels and the videos, but not really getting any enjoyment out of the programme itself. Then Doctor Who and the Silurians came out on video (re-coloured) and I saw it for the first time and I just fell head over heels in love with that particular serial (it's still one of my favourites) and back in love with the programme as a whole. I'm unashamedly enthusiastic about Russell T Davies's relaunch of the show which (IMO) has been mostly excellent, and thought Christopher Eccleston was great, bringing some lovely depths to the role; but David Tennant has just blown me away with his interpretation, and although I'm looking forward to Matt Smith (who seems to be a good actor on the strength of what admittedly little I've seen of him) and indeed to Steven Moffat's stint as showrunner (he wrote one of my other favourite programmes, Press Gang, as well as the criminally underrated Joking Apart, not to mention four of my favourite episodes of the RTD series), I'm going to seriously miss David Tennant. :o( I suspect Christmas/New Year is going to be "break out the kleenex" time in chez Brider...
