If you could only listen to one music genre for the rest of your life (classical, rock, jazz, etc.), what would you choose, and why?
On the strength of the past few days, I could limit it to a single group (Pet Shop Boys, quelle surprise there...), but honestly? I don't work like that. I tend to go through phases. For a few days, it'll be PSB, then it'll be The Church, then it'll be Matt Redman, then it'll be Sisters of Mercy, then it'll be Phatfish, then it'll be Erasure...bottom line is, no way could I limit myself to a single genre for the rest of my life! Unless you wanted to be extremely broad with genre definitions and just put most of what I listen to under "pop". But I tend to be more specific with my definitions than that. Pet Shop Boys & Erasure? Synthpop. Sisters of Mercy? True Goth. Matt Redman & Phatfish? Praise & Worship. The Church? Australian jangly guitar rock. (I still love the genre tag I use for All About Eve - which originated with Tim - "pseudo hippy gothic folk rock & blues". Yes.)
