Off to a Now Show recording tonight. Just catching up with the first two episodes in the current series, which I'd managed to miss (just call me disorganised. Everybody else does...). Just learned that it's taking place at the Shaw Theatre on Euston Road. The negative about this is that I'll need to check where it is, exactly, as I won't be able to find my way there quite as instinctively as I would to Broadcasting House. But on the positive side, at least we won't have to put up with the BBC's rather, um, draconian security checks (remove all metal items from pocket. Put them in tray. Remove belt. Put in tray. Put iPhone and iPod in tray. Walk through security scan thing. If security scan thing beeps, get touched up by security guy. Pick up items from tray. Get rushed through to hospitality suite thingy without time to restore metal items to pocket or to replace belt round waist. Arrive in hospitality suite thingy with trousers on verge of falling down. Such laughs!).
And I think it was the Shaw Theatre where I saw Beverley Craven many years ago, supported by J.J. (Jan Johnston + fella). Either that, or the Tori Amos gig where I turned up about two hours early (a feat of punctuality I've never managed to repeat...). Either way, there are happy memories involved.
