Writer's Block: So far so good

What's the best movie you've seen so far this year? How about the best song? The best book?

Honestly? I haven't yet seen a movie this year that actually came out this year, despite me & Sarah being given a Vue cinemas gift voucher thingy for Christmas and me occasionally saying, "I'd quite like to watch [insert name of film here]" and Sarah saying, "well, you're going on your own."

Films I've seen this year include Love, Actually, Titanic, Ghosts of the Abyss, and Groundhog Day. All of which were wonderful, but I think Titanic continues to be my favourite of the bunch. In my list of things to see are a variety of things I've bought or been given on DVD, including the Bourne films (I watched the first one, but still haven't properly watched the other two), Mamma Mia, and Wall-E.

Same with songs - I honestly couldn't tell you what's around currently in terms of chart hits, and my iPod seems to be permanently set in the '80s. In terms of recent stuff, I love most of the contents of the Pet Shop Boys Yes album, particularly Did you see me coming, The way it used to be, and More than a dream.

As for books, well, at least some of the ones I've read lately have been fairly recent, including Return to Hundred Acre Wood, which wins just for being such a near-perfect recreation of the tone of A A Milne's original books. I've got a load of books to be read, including the Being Human novels, and I'm curious to read the Kate Griffin novels A Madness of Angels and The Midnight Mayor. Although right now I'm on Starter for Ten.
