For anyone as is interested, I'm in the process of uploading various pictures of the holiday and a diary/blog which I wrote as we went along. It can be found here. Caution - very picture-heavy, probably not particularly good if you've got dial-up.
Other stuff - am predictably a tad disappointed by the election non-result, although at least last night's HIGNFY election special was a good laugh.
I've been catching up on various bits of TV since I got back to Sarah's place (which will be also my place after next weekend). Loved this Kwik Fit ad that I found in the break of a FlashForward episode:
(Incidentally, what's happened to the old FlashForward Blackberry sponsorship thing with Hermione Norris doing the voiceover? I miss it!)
Caught up with Doctor Who today, and...Matt Smith just gets better and better, in my opinion. He's managing to capture some interesting nuances to the character, including a large chunk of righteous indignation and sometimes out-and-out anger. I can definitely see why Steven Moffat (and the other producers/executives) wanted to cast him. He's definitely My Doctor (but, splended chaps, all of them). Looking forward to next week's episode - that's one seriously tantalising trailer! Similarly, Ashes to Ashes is hotting up as we head for the finale. I hope it pays off the expectations of Life on Mars, thought.
ETA: Oh, and speaking of Egypt, have a Two Ronnies sketch:
