Writer's Block: Neat, sweet, groovy songs

What was your favorite childhood band or artist? Are you still a fan?

Really? I wasn't much into pop music as a youngster. My main musical obsession, I guess, was Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, and yes, I'm still a fan of that. I have an unfulfilled ambition to play the narrator in a production of it.

Apart from that, and learning to play the piano, my only vivid musical memory from childhood is of enjoying Under the moon of love by Showaddywaddy at the primary school disco at the tender age of about six. And I used to love those microphones the presenters used on Top of the Pops.

The first group I got into was the quasi-classical Rondo Veneziano, and yes, I'm still a fan of theirs.
