Torchwood yay!

According to DWM, we finally have a UK broadcast date for episode 1 of Torchwood - Miracle Day - specifically, Thursday 7th ETA: No, it's the 14th July. Must remember to set ye olde Sky+ boxe to record it.

(Have just realised, I have no Torchwood icons that don't feature Ianto. I'm not in denial, honestly...)

In other news, next month's issue of White Dwarf will apparently feature the first part of Codex: Sisters of Battle. I've said to Sarah for some time that, of all the various factions and races in Warhammer 40,000, these are the ones I find most interesting. If this Codex happens to be accompanied by, say, I dunno, some nice Finecast miniatures there's just a chance that this may tempt me into starting to play. Yes, all my base are belong to them, or something.

I'm vaguely sure there was something else I was going to mention, but I can't remember what it was. Hey ho.

ETA: Oh yeah, although I'm generally trying not to spend as wildly as I did last month, I ordered the latest Doctor Who DVDs from Amazon - that's the rather bizarrely juxtaposed Earth Story boxed set (consisting of the almost entirely unrelated The Gunfighters and one of my utter favourites despite not having seen it for about 27 years, The Awakening), and Frontios. They might well arrive by about Friday. At which point - as I've been buying the DVDs pretty much when they're released, give or take a few days here and there, I'll have every transmitted story from The Horns of Nimon through to Time and the Rani. Time for some sort of marathon viewing session, methinks...

Other ETA: Also, bid on a couple of Madonna 12" singles to add to my collection - Papa Don't Preach and True Blue. I say "bid on," but they were Buy it Now sales, so they're mine. Just got to wait for them to arrive.

Yet another ETA: Oh, and also I'm listening to Patsy Kensit's erstwhile band Eighth Wonder's albums (including the Japanese releases) in the car, and that'll probably be the next target in my "ripping vinyl to mp3" project. Because I like them, even though they're maybe not the greatest musical phenomenon in the universe...
