WHAT'S YOUR FULL NAME
David William John Brider.
WHAT ARE YOU READING?
"Perceivers" by Jane Killick, which I bought from, and got signed by, her at Redemption and have finally got around to reading. It's very enjoyable fun so far - I highly recommend it.
WHAT'S ON YOUR MOUSE PAD?
I'm still using the Tron Legacy one that came free with an issue of Empire magazine late last year.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE BOARD GAME?
I'll stick with the answers that the previous participant had used - Trivial Pursuit and Monopoly. Particularly looking forward to Doctor Who Trivial Pursuit, assuming I can get hold of it...
Doctor Who Magazine
None yet. Sarah and I have talked about it, and we'd like to have some when we're ready.
Good music played loud.
WORST FEELING IN THE WORLD?
FIRST THING YOU THINK OF IN THE MORNING?
"Oh no, not another one."
HOW MANY RINGS BEFORE YOU ANSWER THE PHONE?
Varies. If I'm at my work 'phone, or it's my iPhone and I've got it with me, not many.
FUTURE CHILD'S NAME?
Not sure. Something else Sarah and I have discussed, with no firm decisions made either way.
WHAT IS MOST IMPORTANT IN LIFE?
Happiness. Love. Treating all people as equals.
IF YOU COULD PLAY AN INSTRUMENT, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
I can play piano/keyboard fairly well, strum away at a guitar, and programme a mean sequencer/drum machine. I'd like to be better at the guitar, though, and possibly bass as well.
DO YOU LIKE TO DRIVE FAST?
I tend to favour sticking to the speed limit.
SLEEP WITH A STUFFED ANIMAL?
Sometimes. I have a teddy bear that I've had since I was about two years old.
WHAT TYPE WAS YOUR FIRST CAR?
Well, I share it with Sarah, but it's a Peugeot. Is it terrible to admit that I couldn't tell you the model number without checking? I think it's a 207, but don't hold me to that...
WISH YOU COULD GO BACK AND TALK TO?
FAVOURITE ALCOHOLIC DRINK?
I'm teetotal, so...none.
WHAT'S IN THE TRUNK OF YOUR CAR?
"Trunk"? Isn't that an Americanism? I think you mean "boot". In which case, my acoustic guitar (which still needs the bottom string re-attaching; it hasn't broken but it managed to come loose in storage), and some stuff Sarah bought from B&Q.
DO YOU EAT THE STEMS OF BROCCOLI?
I don't eat broccoli.
IF YOU COULD HAVE ANY JOB YOU WANTED WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Computer programmer, author, and/or Methodist Minister/Evangelist.
WHO'S LEAST LIKELY TO RESPOND?
To this? No idea.
EVER BEEN IN LOVE?
With Sarah. And with a couple of other people before her.
IS THE GLASS HALF EMPTY OR HALF FULL?
I can never tell which is meant to be the optimistic answer and which is the pessimistic one. These days, I tend towards optimism, after many years of being pessimistic on the basis that if you expect the worst, you're never too disappointed when it happens and you're pleasantly surprised if it doesn't happen. Nowadays, when I express vaguely optimistic thoughts, I have Sarah to bring me down a peg or five.
DO YOU TYPE WITH YOUR FINGERS ON THE RIGHT KEYS?
Mp. Sorru, I mrsn No.
WHAT'S UNDER YOUR BED?
Odds and ends.
WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE NUMBER?
My favourite number used to be four. I think now I'm 41 years old, I'm allowed not to have a favourite number any more.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SPORT TO WATCH?
None, frankly. If pushed, I'll tolerate tennis, cricket, snooker, and (for Sarah's sake) rugby, but I won't actively seek them out.
SAY AT LEAST ONE NICE THING ABOUT THE PERSON WHO SENT THIS TO YOU
She was a former work colleague who I got on well with and who used to regularly send round little jokes and humorous images.
IF YOU COULD BUILD A HOUSE ANYWHERE WHERE WOULD IT BE?
WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE ARTICLE OF CLOTHING?
A t-shirt. In winter, a comfy jumper.
BEACH, MOUNTAINS OR CITY?
All things considered, I'm a city kind of person. I like the beach, but I'm not really one for lying on it soaking up the sun - I'll happily stroll along it and paddle in the sea, though. Mountains are good for looking at, but I'm not sure I could climb one. So, yeah, city.
TECHNOLOGY OR ART?
Who says it has to be either/or?
COMEDY OR HORROR?
Comedy. I'm too squeamish to cope with all but the very mildest of horror.
FAVOURITE PHYSICAL FEATURE OF THE OPPOSITE SEX?
Depends who it is. I was very much drawn to Sarah's eyes - they're a beautiful dark brown.
FAVOURITE TIME OF DAY?
THE LAST CD YOU BOUGHT?
The "new" Hugh Laurie one. I bought it a month back when Sarah and I were in Watford, and finally got round to listening to it when we were driving down to see my dad on Father's Day. Really enjoyable stuff. I hope he does another one, ideally including some of his own compositions.
WHERE'S YOUR FAVOURITE PLACE TO BE?
At home, relaxing with Sarah.
FAVOURITE PLACE TO BE MASSAGED?
My shoulders seem to need it the most.
WHAT'S MOST IMPORTANT, STRONG IN MIND OR STRONG IN BODY?
Strong in mind, in my opinion.
WHAT TIME DO YOU WAKE UP IN THE MORNING?
I normally aim for 6:00am, but increasingly struggle to get up. My sleeping patterns are really screwed.
DO YOU BELIEVE IN AFTERLIFE?
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE SEASON?
Spring, with a vague hint of summer.
IF YOU COULD HAVE ONE SUPER POWER, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
Time travel. :o)
WHICH DO YOU PREFER SUSHI OR HAMBURGER?
IF YOU HAVE A TATTOO, WHAT IS IT?
I don't have one.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE DAY?
Saturdays are normally fairly restful and relaxing.
OF THE PEOPLE YOU WILL EMAIL THIS TO, WHO'S MOST LIKELY TO RESPOND FIRST?
I'm posting it on LJ rather than emailing it. I don't know who's likely to respond or repost it at all, never mind first. We'll see.
WHO DID YOU RECEIVE THIS FROM?
A former work colleague of mine called Leila.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE CARTOON?
Gosh. Don't know. I'd still love to see Battle of the Planets in its original Anime version, or a decent dubbed version thereof. Otherwise though, it's probably something Disney (I used to really adore Pete's Dragon). Or I could slightly cheat and say Wallace and Gromit. Or in the realms of CGI, there's always our first date film, The Incredibles. Pixar in general are a source of great enjoyment.
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE MEAL?
My home made fish soup, which I made for the first time in ages yesterday.
IF YOU COULD TAKE A VACATION ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD WHERE WOULD IT BE?
Sarah and I still have vague plans for an Italian trip.
DO YOU HAVE PETS?
No. I'd love cats, but Sarah's allergies mean it's unlikely to happen.
